Our house – outdoor shower
What better than having a shower with a view? Well we have just that at our house with our outdoor shower.
The shower was built about two years ago well after the house was finished and since that time the MOTH rarely uses the inside bathroom – even in the peak of winter. Well only when the water in the pipes freezes and he can’t turn the water on!
As with all good house design reducing the amount of extra plumbing and pipes is vital. We put ours beside the existing pipes and were able to tap into both the hot and cold plumbing set up. This means that the water doesn’t have to travel very far from the water heater (reduces energy needed).
Reuse and recycle
As with all of our projects, we like to reuse building materials where we can and recycle if possible. The iron used came from a friend’s leftovers, the tapware was from the local recycle yard and the stones in the base and the wooden posts were from another project.
So, are you inspired? Is there a little nook down the side of your house that could be converted into an outdoor shower?
